Strandbeest: The Dream Machines of Theo Jansen at the Exploratorium featured enormous kinetic sculptures called strandbeests—“beach animals” in Dutch—that mesmerized with their eerily lifelike motion. Constructed largely of PVC tubing and equipped with sensory organs and ever-evolving survival strategies, these amazing beests walked a wandering, wind-blown line between art and engineering, mechanics and biology. Physicist-turned-artist Jansen has been creating strandbeests since 1990. Iteratively designed and intricately assembled, Jansen’s self-propelled creatures have evolved over the years, becoming increasingly complex and lifelike, with specialized adaptations to help them survive in their seaside environment. I feel like they used creative innovation by just coming up with this amazing idea!I would probably experiment with this cool idea.I wonder if it can be made in to a car? The person in the video made it clear that he was trying to make it more stable, who knows maybe it will be stable enough to be transportation.

I can't believe that the people made walking sculptures with-out pulling or pushing them.I saw creative innovation when they made those sculptures.I would make some so I could share them with other people.

I thank what sparks my interest is that it can glide on the wind.I sol that the artiest has content.I thank that I would be pushing it.

What parks my intrest is that strandbeests what are those?Increasingly complex and lifelike, with specialized adaptations to help them survive in their seaside environment. Theo Jansen has made me want to try new things like rollercoasters. This so called dream machine is very cool. I would like to work this machine. He used creative innovation, confidence and critical thinking.I love this idea.

What spark my interest is that someone that age would be able to build something that is made out of wood can walk. He use confidecne because he didn't know if that would work. I don't think I could fit in, because I'm not good in art.

What Sparks my imagination is how it was moving with the wind! how dose it do that? I saw one of the six c's, it was critical thinking because it must have been very hard to think of that and even more difficult to make with the interesting design.I would probably be experimenting with it and thinking on how it could help in the future- for example, transportation.

What sparked my interest is that it is like a real creature in the movie it said"it can avoid water and the ocean" which defiantly sparked my interest.I believe that Theo Jansen used critical thinking when he was trying to figure out how he could make them walk and i think that must have taken a long time because it said that he was perfecting it sense 1990 and i think he used creative innovation when he had to come up with such beasts.I think the strand beasts could help with mabie pulling objects such as poles and other heavy things but the beasts would need some miner adjustments like using stronger material but i loved this video and it sparked my interest and i hope it does the same for other people.

Creativity is one of the thing that they used. Trying to make a toy but bigger is so cool. They used communication to make the video cool. They used collaboration to work together to make the strand beesds. I would share other human beings arts. Maybe in the fuwcher I might make a big robot that runs on wind. I think the creater of the big strand beests may have mad the toy version. Do you think they will make more? I need to try that in LEGO! In my summer camp I made the toy version.

I loved his creations because i was amazed oh and um his creations were made from wind and rubber bands if i could do something like this i would create 1,000,000 of them i just mean wow!

I think he was using creative innovation and I would just observe and experiment. And what sparked my interest is that they are wind powered witch is cool! I like the idea.

I really like his idea when the robots move from the wind. I would love to share this idea with everybody. I saw critical thinking and confidence in this video. I'm concerned that a kid could be in the way and the robot is giant so that could hurt the kid.

What "Sparks" my interest is that if they can make animals they can probably make anything because I can't even draw a animal. I noctied communication, collaboration, creative innovation and confidence to let ages 1 threw like 200 touch and play with his products. I would fit in with testing Strandbeests products and see how they work. I would experiment with his products because I LOVE to play with like toys that he made for his products. I would love to buy one and visit the musum.

I really liked how the man made this animal. It surprise me how it walked on the beach. I saw collaboration. I saw the man use collaboration a lot with the animals. If I saw one then I would push it around.

1.What sparked me was that they used all those objects to make that huge cool thing called Strand beasts.2.I saw communication when the strand beasts had motion.3.I could fit in by helping Theo Jansen make them.

What sparks my interest is that they were able to make the Strandbeest move with pushing it.One of the six c's were confidence because he was taking risks.I would observe while they were making the Strandbeest.

What sparked my interest is that I've never seen such thing as walking sculptures. Its just so amazing that these strand beasts can detect water so it doesn't go into the sea,and its awsome that it uses wind and elastic rubber band to move the sculptures.

The inventor in the video used communication with the visitors by talking. Being me ,I would probably experiment with engineering.
