Richland School District Two:
4th Annual Film Festival

http://r2filmfestival.blogspot.com/p/welcome.html

Congratulations to Cameron and Annalyse for completing their video projects and entering the contest. Finalists will be announced March 16th, and there will be a Red Carpet Night March 23rd at Spring Valley High School for all the videos that make it to the finals.

Best of luck to our two movie directors and performers!

While it is too late to enter this year's contest, it is not too early to begin planning next year's project. The guidelines below and on the R2 website  are similar every year.

The festival is open up until high school; most successful students will begin participating with videos at an early age and gain skills and confidence along the way.
Start your journey now!

Richland School District Two, in partnership with WeVideo, is hosting the 4th annual Film Festival.  We encourage creative and interested students to participate in this event to gain experience communicating using video editing tools while focusing on an engaging topic. Mr. Durden is willing to serve as a project sponsor if students follow the project timeline and guidelines.
The first step is for students to decide if they’d like to enter in one of the following categories:
  • Educational (Public Service Announcement, informative, or news cast)
  • Music Video--must be original (student-created) melody and lyrics
  • Animation/Claymation
  • Storytelling (personal narrative)
  • Short film (documentary or drama)
Videos must be a minimum of 1 minute to a maximum of 3 minutes in length. Videos exceeding 3 minutes will be disqualified. Videos must be completed with WeVideo using your school Google account.
Students are welcome to get a permission form from Mr. Durden’s classroom or ask parents to download the Parent Permission Form before December 16th.

Videos may be submitted beginning January 14th and ending February 20th.
Videos will be judged by a panel of Richland Two and community leaders. There will be one BEST of SHOW winner and one winner per category.

Finalists will be announced March 16th, and there will be a Red Carpet Night March 23rd at Spring Valley High School for all the videos that make it to the finals. We hope students will respond to this creative cinematic challenge!
